Seventeen-year-old singer-songwriter Aria Mody is making waves in the music industry with the release of her debut independent single, Talk About It. A fusion of pop and hip-hop, the track showcases Aria’s vocal prowess and deep-rooted passion for music.
Having trained in music since the age of six, Aria honed her skills under the guidance of renowned vocal coach Seth Riggs. Known for his pioneering Speech Level Singing technique, Riggs has worked with legendary artists such as Michael Jackson, Prince, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Madonna, Ozzy Osbourne, and Olivia Newton-John. His expertise has played a key role in shaping Aria’s vocal abilities, helping her refine her unique sound.
For Talk About It, Aria also collaborated with Grammy award-winning producer Derek “DOA” Allen, a music industry veteran who has worked with icons like Lionel Richie, Janet Jackson, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown, and Kelly Rowland. Speaking about her experience working with Allen, Aria shares, “Working with DOA sir was an incredible journey. I had the opportunity to intern and learn not just as an artist, but also as a producer, songwriter, and musician. It gave me invaluable insights into the entertainment industry and how to create music that truly connects with people.”
Beyond singing and songwriting, Aria is a multi-instrumentalist proficient in piano, bass, guitar, and alto saxophone. While she’s deeply rooted in Western music, she also has a strong appreciation for Hindi music. Some of her favorite Bollywood tracks include Chaiyya Chaiyya (Dil Se.., 1998), Kala Chashma (Baar Baar Dekho, 2016), and Yimmy Yimmy. She cites playback singer Shreya Ghoshal as one of her biggest inspirations and expresses her desire to collaborate with her in the future.
With Talk About It, Aria Mody is carving her path as an emerging independent artist. Her journey has only just begun, and with the talent and dedication she possesses, she is certainly one to watch in the global music scene.
